TORTOLA
BEACHES
Whether you are a sun worshipper, a windsurfer or want to enjoy
a good book under a tree or in a hammock, the beaches of Tortola
can make your island getaway dream come true. There is a beach to
suit every mood; you can socialize or be completely alone; dance
until the sun sets or lazily snorkel above colourful reefs; body
surf in thunderous waves or float in still water as warm as a bath.
Roam the beaches of Tortola and you'll find at least one that will
keep calling you back. Your biggest challenge may be to decide which
beach to explore first.
Cane Garden Bay: An action-filled beach popular for its gentle
surf and long, lovely curved bay. The colorful seaside bars and
restaurants, as well as a few small inns and villas and gift shops
give it a boardwalk appeal. Cane Garden Bay is a favoured anchorage
for boaters and all water sports activities are available here.
Brewer's Bay Beach: Offers a quiet retreat and some of the
best snorkeling because of its many reefs. It also has the island's
only campground.
Apple Bay Beach: Grab your boogey board and get ready to
chop the waves of this very popular surfer's haven. After a few
chops, let Bomba's surfside bar get you fired up with a shot of
Bomba's infamous punch.
Smuggler's Cove: Get lost in the solitude of this hidden
treasure. Somewhat remote but worth the trip. You will find more
than just a snorkel and swim and the glorious view of Jost Van Dyke
in its background. When its time for a drink and a bag of chips,
help yourself at the honest bar.
Josiah's Bay Beach: Another surfer's world with its high
waves and awesome view of Guana Island. The Josiah's Bay Plantation
and an art gallery are nearby.
Lambert Bay: Is one of the north shore's finest beaches and
is a favourite picnic spot because of its sheltering palm grove
and fine white sand. A resort is located behind the beach.
Long Bay: A mile long stretch of white sand beach, perfect
for tranquil sunset walks. The western end, fringed with palms and
seagrapes offers greater solitude and good swimming.
VIRGIN
GORDA BEACHES
Discover the many beaches on Virgin Gorda offering a unique experience
and magnificent scenery both above and below the water. From the
world famous and exotic natural "indoor swimming pool" of The Baths,
to the spectacular white sand beaches at Trunk Bay, you will understand
why Virgin Gorda is considered the beach-blessed jewel of the Caribbean.
All you need to do is visit...and leave your footprints in the sand!
The Baths: A National Park made up of a series of small sea
pools lying beneath a canopy of giant granite boulders. These sheltered
light filled grottos create a unique setting to swim and explore.
Snorkeling along the outside perimeter of both The Baths and Devil's
Bay reveals an area rich in colourful fish and coral.
Devil's Bay Beach: Another National Park is accessible by
boat or by walking through the trails of The Baths. The beach is
pure white sand and is sprinkled with large granite boulders. It's
deep blue waters make it excellent for diving and snorkeling. <
Bay>: Sprinkled with boulders, this stretch of white sand is one
of Virgin Gorda's loveliest and features some of The BVI's clearest
waters.
Mahoe Bay Beach: A remote and quiet beach with vivid blue
water is located north of Savannah Bay. The Bay lies at the end
of a tropically landscaped drive leading to a restaurant, beach
resorts and villas. It's gentle sandy curves and 2 picturesque reefs
afford wonderful water activities.
Trunk Bay: One of a series of spectacular white sand beaches
that line Virgin Gorda's western shore. Bordered by a private estate
and a palm grove, Trunk Bay can be reached by boat or along a path
from Spring Bay.
Savannah Bay Beach: A beautiful long curving stretch of sand,
Savannah Bay is an idyllic spot to work on a tan and then plunge
in for a cooling dip. If you stay until later in the day, it's the
perfect place to watch our spectacular sunsets.
ANEGADA
BEACHES
Come discover for yourself, why Anegada, an island of coral sand,
is worthy of being known as "The Beach Lover's Island". With its
renowned beaches and crystal clear waters, it is your perfect escape
to tranquility. Chances are you won't see another set of footprints
in the sand. Some of the best snorkeling and reef diving adds to
the wonders of the exotic and astounding vistas. You can kayak,
sun bathe or just enjoy the magnificent sunsets as you enjoy a snack
and a cool drink at one of the beach bars. Anegada is truly a beach
waiting for you to visit.
Loblolly Bay Beach: Ranked as one of the world's best beaches,
Loblolly Bay Beach is miles and miles of untouched and isolated
beach with an all direction lookout and a 50ft plus walkout into
the ocean. It has two beach bars and restaurant as well as sun shelters
and hammocks among the seagrapes.
Flash of Beauty Beach: Think pink!! With its pretty trail
of conch shells leading from the beach bar to the shoreline, this
unique feature is truly an unforgettable view. Excellent snorkeling
is also found here.
Cow Wreck Bay Beach: There are several stories as to how
this beach got its name. Ask any Anegadian and you'll be amazed
at their version. Found on the northwestern end of Anegada, it is
another one of the many pristine beaches found on this island. A
small beach bar and restaurant, as well as a few villas, are located
here.
JOST
VAN DYKE BEACHES
The beach is undoubtedly one of the most important features of any
Caribbean vacation. With a its startlingly bright white, soft sand,
bordered by intense blue water the award winning beaches on Jost
Van Dyke are a beach-lover's dream come true.
Great Harbour Beach: The island's arrival point with its
white sandy horseshoe shape, offers a fabulous water sport facility
with a host of friendly and casual beach bars and restaurants for
you to enjoy. Dinghy docks available.
White Bay Beach: Voted one of the top 10 beaches in the world
by Caribbean Travel & Life. Long stretch of white sandy palm lined
beach. Protected by a great snorkeling reef. Known for anchoring
close to shore. Swim to the beach. Visit the award winning beach
bars.
Sandy Spit Beach: Totally remote but within reach by boat,
this is definitely worth any sailor's trip across the other side.
