Nightlife

St. John is a small island with a very small island feel. The population is small, welcoming and friendly. St. Johnians like to 'hang out', have a drink, exchange stories and listen to music. If 'chilling out' is your type of ambiance than you will enjoy the small bars and open air 'watering holes' of St. John.

The nightlife on St. John tends to be more low-key then its sister island St. Thomas. Outings are a friendly affair. There are several bars around the island. Many focus on music, food and good times. Live music, including reggae bands, is a popular entertainment. Some very colorful bars can be found in Coral Bay. Cruz Bay is also home to several entertaining spots. It is not unusual in Cruz Bay to find people gathered in front of a small bar, sitting almost on the road drinking, talking and having a great time.

For a quieter more romantic night out on St. John have a nice dinner, desert and drinks at a great restaurant. There are several to choose from.

If you are staying at one of St. John's resorts you will find that there are several bars, lounges and restaurants at the resort; and that these places offer evening entertainment and an opportunity to mingle with locals and other visitors.

St. John from time to time has live performances including plays and concerts. During special holidays like Christmas and Carnival there are often great events to attend.
